Risk #BookLaunch at #WordsLDN Festival

This past weekend, I was one of 40 authors promoting my books at WordsFest on the upper level of the Covent Garden Market in London. Because of the timing (having just received my first batch of hard copies of my second novel Risk), the festival became the ideal occasion for an unofficial book launch.

What a great experience this turned out to be! People—no, let’s call them Readers—wandered from booth to booth finding out more about local authors and their works. They would come up to my booth, look at my posters, flip my books over to read the back or examine the cover, take a cookie or a promo card and sometimes they even bought a book. Often, they would look at one book or the other (I was selling Risk, Once Were Friends and an old book of poetry called Reflections on the Thames that is no longer in print), and say, “What’s this about?”

So I would end up pitching my books to potential readers all day long. You learn a lot about your stories this way. What catches people’s interest, what leaves them flat… even what causes them to take out their wallets. It didn’t always end in a sale, but I met lots of great people and sold a few books. Mission accomplished. Thanks for your support, London!

As a result, I can officially announce to the online world that my novel Risk, a Wattpad Mystery Thriller Hot List Top Ten Book in 2014 with around 50,000 reads, is now available for purchase in ebook and paperback and I hope you will take a moment to read the blurb and consider adding it to your “To Read” list or pile, as the case may be.

They’re the most unlikely detectives…

Martin is a 38-year-old virgin marked for greatness by the insurance gods. In his professional life, he is paid to assess risk, but in his personal life he plays it safe. Experience has shown him that lonely is better than brokenhearted.

George is a wannabe architect with white man’s dreadlocks. He risks his neck on the streets of Toronto every day as a bike courier, but his job is unchallenging and he chooses apathy over the risk of failure at what he really wants to do.

When George tags along with Martin to investigate the scene of his latest claim, they stumble upon a burglary in process. Now they are being hunted by an unknown adversary who will stop at nothing to get what he’s after, forcing Martin and George into a dangerous game of cat and mouse in which they must risk everything.

Available as an eBook on Amazon, Kobo, Google Play, Apple iBookstore, Barnes & Noble, txtr, Blio and Smashwords. Available in Paperback on Amazon and Createspace. Scan the QR code below to visit the book’s permanent page on my website.
