Excited to be tabling at Eden Mills tomorrow, September 18th! Look for us along Publishers’ Way on York Street in the centre of town. The entire Hanton House catalogue of paperback books (including all of mine) will be available at a special price of $10.00 each. Weather looks like it will be beautiful and lots of great authors will be reading from their works. See you there!

Syndication Story
This is a poster/teaser designed for my last comic strip collaboration with Tim Levins, called Built to Last. Here’s the story of how it came about:
When we sent out our strip Then Comes Marriage to the six or seven major syndicates, we had an amazing response. We had two development type offers and one request to see more strips. This beat all the form letters and the one or two encouraging handwritten comments we got in reply to Rivertown News hands down. We were ecstatic.
The Launch Promo
How far would you go to make your dreams come true?
Watson Sinclair has only been in New York for a couple of hours and already he’s had a small accident in his car involving some distracting cleavage and an inconveniently-placed fruit stand. His best friend JC Dubois is a few blocks away kidnapping the editor of the Royal Features Syndicate. Watson has to pick them up and get back across the Canadian border safely with their prisoner. It didn’t have to be this way.
Double Winner!
Very excited to announce my novels were honored in two categories in the recent Indie Book Awards put on by Discover Indie Writers. More details available on their tumblr account here. Big thanks to DIW for their recognition of my work.
Failure, Success, and Time Management
This year’s NaNoWriMo failure had much more of a feeling of accomplishment than last year’s #fail. This year, I got a shiny 25K badge for getting halfway to the 50K word count goal. High five! That’s only half a fail compared to last year’s 8K word flameout.
Great Day at WordsFest
Spent the day tabling at WordsFest upstairs in the Covent Garden Market here in London, Canada. I created the following “Storify” series about the local authors who were taking part.

The Power of #Yes
I think I’ve been inspired by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey…
Sometimes opportunities come your way that seem random or have benefits that are hard to quantify, if any. I’ve been trying to stay open to offers I get on the assumption that they must have come my way for a good reason.
My #Interview for Small Empires #Wattpad Episode
So I was recently interviewed by Alexis Ohanian for a web-based TV show which was doing a feature on Wattpad. It was a lot of fun. The show is called “Small Empires” and it appears on TheVerge.com. The Wattpad episode is now up on the site – lots of great Toronto footage and a look behind the scenes at the ubercool Wattpad headquarters!
