The Launch – Sample Chapter
My name is Watson Sinclair and I am a pathetically heterosexual man. Not the kind who decides in elementary school that he likes girls but is too shy to do anything about it all the way through high school, learning what he can from teen romance books, pornography and playground rumors, although that, too. Compulsive ogling is the true symptom of my condition. Unsubtle rubbernecking is its unfortunate result.
Great Day at WordsFest
Spent the day tabling at WordsFest upstairs in the Covent Garden Market here in London, Canada. I created the following “Storify” series about the local authors who were taking part.

Announcing Book Number Three!
I’ve been leaking some details about this over the past week and added the book’s cover to some of my social media, but I wanted to wait until I had checked the proof copy and the book was live for purchase in both paperback and e-book before I did my official launch. That time has come…
The Power of #Yes
I think I’ve been inspired by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey…
Sometimes opportunities come your way that seem random or have benefits that are hard to quantify, if any. I’ve been trying to stay open to offers I get on the assumption that they must have come my way for a good reason.
Write. Publish. Repeat. (Review.)
I just finished this excellent how-to book for Indie Authors from the creators of the Self-Publishing Podcast. It was filled with great tips for writers, easy to follow plans for promoting your work, and lots of real world examples from the authors’ own Indie publishing experiences.
#NaNoWriMo #Fail #FTW
I shared some thoughts and learnings from my recent NaNoWriMo experience as a guest post on the Pure Jonel blog this week. We are also counting down to a draw for one of five epub copies of Once Were Friends.
Publication: #Paris short story on #CommuterLit
For the past couple of years, I’ve been working on a series of connected short stories concerning the expat crowd in Paris in the mid-twenties. It’s been a labor of love requiring lots of research and background reading. I’ve also been sending them out and I’m excited that the first one has just been published on CommuterLit.com.
My #Interview for Small Empires #Wattpad Episode
So I was recently interviewed by Alexis Ohanian for a web-based TV show which was doing a feature on Wattpad. It was a lot of fun. The show is called “Small Empires” and it appears on TheVerge.com. The Wattpad episode is now up on the site – lots of great Toronto footage and a look behind the scenes at the ubercool Wattpad headquarters!
